CARRIER TRANSICOLD PAVES NEW TRAINING HIGHWAY

ATHENS, Ga., March 27, 2006 - A new "Road to Master Technician" technical service training program has been paved by Carrier Transicold, a business unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

With new skill-building challenges for dealers and their technicians who want to excel, the "Road to Master Technician" program consists of five weeks of training in four separate modules. Successful completion of all four modules earns dealer technicians the opportunity to take Carrier Transicold’s Master Technician exam.

Module 1 is the two-week Truck/Trailer Basics, a prerequisite for the three other one-week modules: 2.) Multi-temp Systems, 3.) Control Systems and 4.) Truck Systems. Modules 2 through 4, which may be taken in any order, are available exclusively to Carrier Transicold dealer employees, and successful completion of each earns technicians a specialist’s certificate in that subject.

Already the leader in providing technical training and support, Carrier Transicold expanded its Master Technician program in response to its Dealer Executive Advisory Board.

"These programs assure Carrier Transicold’s customers that their refrigeration equipment will continue to be maintained and repaired by the most highly skilled professionals in the industry," said Travis Smith, Carrier Transicold manager of Dealer Development.

Throughout 2006, 22 weeks of training are currently scheduled. Module 1 is taught at several locations including Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago and Syracuse, N.Y., and Modules 2 - 4 are taught at the Athens Technical College in Athens, Ga.
