At Mid-America Trucking Show... LOUSIVILLE, Ky., March 31, 2005 - Carrier Transicold unveiled its latest generation Advance™microprocessor control and supporting software, while also demonstrating that it has taken service to the "next level" at the Mid-America Trucking Show, held here this week at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center. Already the refrigerated trucking industry’s most powerful microprocessor-based control, the Advance system now offers 30 preset commodity profiles - twice as many as before - through its improved IntelliSet™control option. No other system allows a driver to select precise refrigeration settings as easily. With the IntelliSet control option, multiple refrigeration parameters are preprogrammed into the Advance control for each of the 30 profiles, and the driver simply chooses a setting from a scrolling text list. "IntelliSet control set-up is handled by Carrier’s ReeferManager™ software, a new package that combines Carrier’s earlier DataManager™ and ServiceManager™ programs into a single, highly sophisticated application. From a desktop PC, ReeferManager handles system configuration, and also aids in monitoring and analyzing performance of all units in the fleet. Data is easily transferred between the PC and Advance controls via data cards or serial port. When transporting temperature sensitive commodities with Carrier’s X-Series singletemperature trailer units the ReeferManager software and IntelliSet control work together to assure product protection, optimize fuel efficiency and to document system performance for compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) criteria.
Taking Service Up a Notch Through the Next Level initiative, members of Carrier’s extensive North American dealer network now provide dealer-to-dealer workmanship warranties and uphold new, customerfocused maintenance and repair standards. "These initiatives, as well as the product upgrades, have all been implemented to help our dealers and their customers achieve a higher level of performance," said Tom Ondo, General Manager, Carrier Transicold Americas Truck/Trailer/Rail. "By exceeding customer expectations every day, we demonstrate why it makes good business sense to choose Carrier."
Exceptional Performance and Optimal Life-Cycle Costs Ultima XTC and Ultra XTC - These single-temperature, high-performance trailer units generate premium airflow and premium air throw to move more air at a higher velocity, providing the highest capacity, fastest pulldown and most consistent temperature uniformity. Because both units operate at significantly lower RPMs than comparable models, fuel consumption is lower and engine life is extended. While the Ultima XTC boasts a somewhat higher cooling capacity, both take advantage of Carrier’s Advance™ microprocessor, combining sophisticated control and ease of operation. Genesis™ Multi-compartment Temperature Control Systems - When a truck or trailer needs the flexibility of hauling multiple cargoes at different temperature conditions, from a low of -20 F to a high of 80 F, the Genesis system is the most versatile temperature control system available. Carrier offers two sizes of low-profile single- and dual-discharge ceilingmounted evaporators for mounting inside the truck or trailer. One or two evaporators can be combined with the TM-1000 reefer to permit 12 different two- or three-compartment system configurations in trailer applications. The Genesis system is unique in that it uses electric heat, rather than hot-gas only, providing faster heating, faster defrost and constant temperature control, even in low ambient temperatures. Supra 550 Diesel Truck unit and DataCOLD 500 - Carrier’s latest addition to the Supra series of high-performance diesel-powered truck reefers, the Supra 550 unit is a one-piece assembly designed for small- to medium-sized trucks (12-16 ft). The Supra 550 unit is powered by a CT2-29 TriVortex diesel engine and features a spacesaver evaporator and automatic hot-gas heating system. The Cab Command™ remote control center provides easy operation and a pretrip system check. Designed for compatibility with the Supra unit’s control system, Carrier’s exclusive DataCOLD 500 provides cutting-edge performance tracking, data transfer and data sharing. An integrated thermal printer provides temperature graphs and delivery tickets at the touch of a button. Carrier Transicold provides industry-leading transport temperature-control solutions with a complete line of equipment for refrigerated trucks, trailers and rail cars. Carrier Transicold is part of Carrier Corporation, the world’s largest manufacturer of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment. Carrier is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTX), provider of a broad range of high-technology products and support services to the aerospace and building systems industries. |
